We are two skincare enthusiasts in our thirties who share a passion for understanding what really makes a product work: its ingredients.
Our journey started from two very different perspectives.
Pharmacist & Dermocosmetics Specialist
Sophia is a pharmacist who has worked in the dermocosmetics industry since graduating. Over the years, she has spent countless hours studying formulations, active ingredients, clinical data, and the science behind skincare. Her professional experience has taught her that great skincare is not about marketing claims — it's about understanding the ingredients and the role they play in a formula.
Skincare Enthusiast & Men's Perspective
Peter's skincare journey began much later. Like many men, he initially viewed skincare as something simple and functional. Influenced by Sophia, he started incorporating dermocosmetic products into his routine to help address the visible signs of aging and improve his skin's overall health. What started as curiosity quickly became a genuine passion. Today, he enjoys discovering new products, understanding formulations, and exploring the science behind effective skincare alongside Sophia.
Together, we created The Ingredientologists with a simple mission: to help people make smarter skincare decisions by focusing on ingredients rather than marketing.
Through ingredient analysis, product reviews, comparisons, and evidence-based insights, we aim to break down complex formulations into clear, practical information that anyone can understand.
Because great skincare starts with ingredients.
Every product receives a score across five criteria: Formula Quality, Active Ingredient Strength, Evidence Level, Tolerability, and Value For Money. Scores are weighted equally and reviewed periodically as new studies become available.
